As Trump’s tariffs begin to kick in around the world, The Washington Post analyzed two of his claims: “we were losing $2 billion a day [under President Joe Biden], and “now we’re making $3 billion a day.”

In an analysis, Glenn Kessler wrote, “both the Treasury Department and the data released by Customs and Border Protection show Trump is way off the mark.”

Kessler gave Trump “Four Pinocchios” and said, “Trump is peddling two nonsense numbers. First, tariffs are already bringing in $3 billion a year. He’s off by a factor of 10. Second, that Biden was losing $2 billion a year. That reflects a misunderstanding of trade — though with profound consequences.

Fuck you WaPo. You helped him win so now you can gargle his balls until you choke on them. Bezos and the rest of the billionaires were fine with the fascism when they thought they could insulate themselves from the fallout. I don’t want to hear your complaints now that you’re having to deal with tariffs.

Neither can I, one is per day and one per year but only points out a factor of 10 error, not 365…?

That confused me at first, but I realized that he’s speaking “orders of magnitude,” which means that 365 rounds to 100.

It’s mostly done in physics, and briefly, your only count the number of digits. If I’m comparing a number with 3 zeros to a number with 12 zeroes, the actual number hardly matters.

We need to stop calling them tariffs, and start calling the taxes, and start giving HitlerPig credit for the largest tax increase in American history. Many people dont understand what tariffs are, and who pays them, but they understand taxes, and Republicans have spent DECADES making their followers believe that taxes are the worst thing in the world.

When people complain about high prices, blame them on HitlerPig’s taxes, and repeat it constantly. Every Democrat should talk about HitlerPig’s onerous tax increases in every on-air appearance, empathizing with the financial issues that every working American is feeling. Emphasize that this isn’t a partisan issue, its not about Conservative/ Liberal or Republican/ Democrat, it’s about working Americans stuggling to keep their head above water.

People get angry about taxes, especially when they are feeling the pain from tax increases. Time to twist the knife, and remind people that it was HitlerPig that stuck that knife in their ribs.

Or instead of further mangling the language, just saying that tariffs are taxes. Nice and simple.
