Greenwashing. The captured carbon is realeased if you use the algae.
Sourcing the carbon from the atmosphere is still better than getting it from the ground. It turns a net positive emission source into net zero.
Now this is an exciting use of technology. Hopefully they can make this solution scale and provide us with more information on users of such biomass products.
My first thought is some type of fuel. Very interesting, indeed.
Or if they can sort out how to cultivate something like Spirulina, there are nutritional uses as well.
Once the data centers run on biomass, we’ll be that much closer to the true orphan crushing machines.
