What a great video. Peaceful reunification in 1951, and then full liberation in 1959. The people who were born slaves got to live a full life with full human rights equal to that of any former slave owner. Such a contrast to the “abolition of slavery” in western countries that took 50 years at least. in the UK slave owners were compensated for their loss of “property.” In america they had “emancipation” in 1863 and they didn’t even get desegregation until 1968. Even now african Americans are forced into slavery in prisons for poverty motivated minor crimes. This is what happens if you just “free the slaves” without any redistribution of land and wealth.
Former slave owners in other countries remained the wealthy elite of society and effectively continued slavery under different names such as “sharecropping”. Former serf masters in Tibet either became regular workers equal to the liberated masses, or fled to India to spread anti-China propaganda and portray themselves as victims after their failed CIA armed uprising.
Those families who stayed and agreed to live as equals now lead better lives than most who left.
