Friendly reminder regarding changing the display name of !space@mander.xyz :)
Not a fan of the fake grill on the front. It’s like they looked at nose of the original Tesla Model S and thought “what if we made it taller?”.
By using a greater mass of magnets, placed farther out on the spinning plates, and spinning those plates at a higher speed than is typical, Conifer has managed to use weaker iron-based magnets
The article mentions that these particular iron-based magnets are weaker, but I wonder if they could use iron nitride magnets, which are apparently on par with rare neodymium magnets.
Might a PHEV suit your requirements?
Better late than never, I suppose.
Ah yes, the “parts the map that Europe conquered” definition of “west” :)
LOL, the “Chinese Belgian” is a funny bit. I wonder how much of a difference it will make to counteract the real (and perceived) threats to the United States auto sector…
How is it? Best aspects, worst aspects, anything unexpected?
TIL Australia is in the west. Isn’t it about as far east as you can get, save for a few tiny island territories?
It’s not good to regularly charge NMC batteries to 100%, or leave them discharged for an extended period of time. For long-term batttery health, it’s best to operate them between 20% and 80%, making the higher energy density less avantageous than at first sight.
In what context?
However, the Stellantis cells are not all-solid-state (ASSB) units. They’re polymer-based semi-solid-state cells which focus on stabilizing the anode, the part of the cell where active material gets deposited during charging. This is more of an interim solution that could help pave the path towards ASSBs.
Still good, but not quite as good as the title.
Almost on the other side of the S-curve for sales.
Like the kind every sock monkey is made from?
Prof that googlie eyes
I like to imagine that this refers to a Professor T. G. Eyes, who makes everything better.
I miss the ol’ switcharoo and beetlejuicing
The !lemmaroo@lemmy.world chain has been slowly growing over the past couple of years, and I just created !beetlejuicing@lemm.ee.
I think that !space@mander.xyz is the most general community, and communities like “!astronomy@mander.xyz” and “!spaceflight@sh.itjust.works” are subsets.
These are just my thoughts though, and I’d love to hear what others think.
@Bee@mander.xyz, @otter@lemmy.ca, @Bitswap@lemmy.world Thoughts on changing the display name of !space@mander.xyz from “Space & Astronomy” to just “Space”? Not that astronomy posts wouldn’t be welcome, but it could help reduce confusion with this community.
They even have a Lemmy instance!
Ah, the old car salesman lemmaroo!
