  • Thanks for this post, there are some good racing games out there for sure, however I can’t recommend JDM at all.

I played the demo early last year and have been eagerly awaiting the release this year. They pushed back the release date from March this year to improve things further which I thought was a good sign but ultimately once it has landed it is just not enjoyable. The car and modification selections are great as are the visuals but the handling model is just fucking shite. I tried playing it for around 5 hours and it is just not enjoyable to actually play.

Another one worth checking out is the new Tokyo Xtreme Racer game. This is more a highway racer that is still in EA, the gameplay loop is OK although it can get a bit boring for me personally and it definitely needs some improvements in the handling and physics as well as the balance but it is still in active development and I will keep an eye on it.

Also good is Nightrunners. This is also a highway racing game but made by one dev. It is stylised to look like a late 90s vhs and the modification options are fucking amazing. Again this is still in development but is definitely worth a look if you like JDM cars!

  • Absolutely. They don’t like being called out on it either. I am very vocal towards them and their blocking of cycle lanes and consequently I have had multiple drivers try and knock me off my bike. I had one guy when I was on foot try and run me over and then get out and try and fight me.

What also really pisses me off is that they are allowed to use bus lanes. Bus lanes, in my opinion, should be there the encourage use of PUBLIC transport by making it quicker for buses to get through traffic. They should not be benefiting these private businesses and encouraging even more entitled cunts driving taxis.

Honestly I could rant all day about taxi drivers, I fucking despise them.

  • As a cyclist this is even worse, the amount of people that pass dangerous close and then I catch up to them and they are sending a text in their lap is absurd.

The deliveroo type food delivery riders on scooters are even worse, they drive around my city permanently looking at their phones with one hand on it tapping the screen, passing me as close as they can it seems. I also see them driving on foot paths and down cycle lanes to cut between two roads so they don’t have to go around more and more often in the last year or two.

And worst of the worst, taxi drivers. They are arrogant, entitled cunts who think they own the road just because they drive as a job.

I fully support these idiots being banned as they are all menaces on the road and are endangering countless peoples well being with their irresponsible driving. I don’t care if “that’s their livelihood” they should consider that before driving like pricks.

  • I don’t do it much any more but one of my favourite pass times used to be taking a load of acid and then going to a very public place or somewhere that you are forced to be around lots of people and have many interactions.

Busy shopping centres, a zoo, busy pubs, an ex girlfriends family wedding where I knew no one. I guess it was kind of masochistic in a way but I just really enjoyed putting myself into challenging situations whilst tripping. The challenge was always to try take the highest dose possible and still be able to actually keep my shit together. I’m sure plenty of people I interacted with at those times thought “this guy is blasted out of his mind, Jesus” but who gives a fuck, I’m never seeing these people again and it actually made me want to speak to people in the first place.

These days I prefer to just lay down, listen to music and drift off into the stratosphere.
