2·21 days agoSometimes the food can do it too – I scratched my last nonstick pan with a silicone spatula because I ground black pepper on my eggs and caught a craggy piece just right while flipping. After being super careful for months! So irritated.
I don’t get posts like this – his expression matches nearly every other 40+ white dude minding his own business that I’ve ever seen. These pics/posts have strong “you should smile more” energy

12·30 days agoAngela Collier has some great thoughts about the shortcomings of scientific communication with the public in general – I think this is the video. Can’t recommend her enough, wonderful breakdowns of very complex topics in a way that doesn’t make me feel dumb.
3·1 month agoI think you still have it upside-down? The wrist is the bottom of the tattoo, so while doing pullups it would be inverted. It’s legible while standing, shaking hands, reaching out, etc.
Pretty sure it’s an upside-down forearm; note their hair toward the bottom-left of the photo.
Just a short while ago I was invited to dinner at a friend’s. Wouldn’t you know it – rounded couch. Immediately called CPS and got their kids sent somewhere they can have a chance at a decent upbringing.
2·1 month agoOne of the worst apications for generative “AI” is math, as it happens. You’d have to check that all the work is even in the right ballpark, so you might as well just do it yourself.
Same issues with Pop!_OS – I’m having a much better time on Nobara. But you’re making me want to try Kubuntu… still haven’t found my happiest place but I’m happy :)
I know we’re being hyperbolic here but hard disagree – how awful would that be for everyone on-board? And absolutely not worth the damage to public infrastructure. There’s an established procedure for dealing with blockages, and I hope that process irreparably damages the truck and results in a hefty fine for the owner
I mean… okay? Pretty sure that has very little to do with the OS at that point. That’s kind of like saying the PS5 is faster than the PS4 – yeah, I’m upgrading hardware, of course it’s faster. Kinda surprised they only got 2.3x with that basis of comparison.
