Ironically this post makes me think you are less of a nerd as it has LLM fingerprints all over it. A real nerd would have compiled their satircal study by hand.

I’m a bona fide alpha male. Imagine Joe Rogan but more buff and with additional BDE. When I talk everyone listens. I was the star of every sports team I’ve been part of. I can lift a motocycle above my head and then ride off into the sunset on it.
Usually posting fit-pics on insta but I accidentally clicked a link and ended up here.

steeznson@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it true that femboys are "fetishized" by right-wingers or something like that? Or is my friend(who told me this) tripping balls?16·4 days agoI think this is true for a lot of prejudices. Pron sites have released data showing deep red states where one might imagine more racist people live searching for interracial videos.

Meaning to me necessitates having gold teeth. You don’t need anything else in life if you can glint at people.
Stoicism can sometimes read like a very early form of cognitive behavioral therapy
I’m not religious or spiritual so I’m a pure hedonist. I work so that I can maintain a comfortable life for my wife and I with vacations and other treats. In my 30s but not very interested in having children; might be tempted to adopt in my 40s but will need to see where I am at that point in my life.
Essentially the goal is to be happy as a clam (that is a strange phrase now I consider it). It would be nice to author something to leave my name for future generations but I kind of get that from contributing to open source projects when I get the chance.

steeznson@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.world•Anyone here rocking the Linux Format magazines?English7·5 days agoI loved Linux Voice back when it was still published. They had a series of articles on writing your own kernel in x86_64 ASM that I followed and ran on QEMU back when I was a philosophy student. It really cemented my interest in tech and now I do that for a living.
Edit: Linux Voice folded into Linux Format sometime around 10+ years ago
steeznson@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some obvious or not so obvious silver linings of Trump's disastrous policies? if any6·5 days agoIn my opinion you and the person you replied to probably agree on 80-90% of the same thing on this particular topic but you’ve come in swinging accusing them of being in cahoots with bigots.
steeznson@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Solved: ~/bin vs. ~/.local/bin for user bash scripts?2·5 days agoI’ll play the game for a while but if they litter my homedir then they are first on the chopping block when I’m looking to uninstall things and free up space.
Sinners and Stranger Than Fiction so far.
Sinners was a bit of a mess but it was stylish and I thought there was an interesting moral ambiguity to the supernatural element that has kept me thinking about it for a few days.
Sinners spoiler
It is implied that the pagan Irish vampire was similarly oppressed by Christians in the past and he is offering the people in the juke joint the chance to escape prejudice by integrating with a wider society at the cost of becoming more homogeneous and losing part of their black identity.
Stranger Than Fiction is quite old now but a fun drama/comedy with Will Ferrel which seems like it must have influenced The Stanley Parable game.
steeznson@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Solved: ~/bin vs. ~/.local/bin for user bash scripts?2·5 days agoI dislike having top-level directories in $HOME that aren’t storing media or documents. Some linux ports of games are awful for littering your homedir or Documents. Just lazy devs. Put it all in ~/.local please folks!
Firefox is essential for its various forks even if you have gripes with it
Irish people ask me what part of Ireland I’m from. I must do an amazing Irish accent despite being Scottish and have never visited there. I blame the fact that central Edinburgh doesn’t have a strong Scottish accent and lots of Londoners/Americans study here.
steeznson@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do words like 'conmunity', 'family', 'team', 'clan', 'society' 'country' etc still mean anything anymore, or are we devolving into individualistic people looking out for no 1?3·8 days agoClan never really meant anything even in Scotland. All that tartan shit was invented by Sir Walter Scott as tourist fodder.
Social media is designed to override your critical thinking faculties.
Human beings aren’t evolved to get news/information from such a wide variety of sources at such a fast rate. Your critical thinking faculties just get overrun.
Everyone has experienced this and accidentally shared an article from The Onion or whatever without noticing in the short term that they are responding to some kind of bias being confirmed.
