Umso deutlicher scheint es mir jenseits von Metagesprächen wie diesem hier wenig zielführend, all diese unterschiedlichen Zusammenhänge krampfhaft in einen wie du denke ich auch zum Ausdruck bringen wolltest unzeitgemäßen und uneindeutigen Sammelbegriff einzupferchen.

Ich denke der Vorwurf hier ist nicht, dass keine Mehrheit für die Umsetzung inhärent undemokratischer Ideen vorliegt, sondern dass der Wunsch nach Umsetzung inhärent undemokratischer Ideen nicht vom demokratischen System aus Selbstschutz abgelehnt wird.
Wenn’s bloß um Mehrheiten und nicht um Inhalte ginge, gewönne zum Schluss einfach das größte Werbebudget und würde die Demokratie abschaffen. Das wär blöd.
Wenn ich das halbwegs richtig wiedergebe, hat Jens-Christian Wagner erklärt, dass “Erinnern” nur ein Akt ist, der sich auf selbst Erlebtes beziehen kann, wodurch die Forderung “erinnert euch!” inzwischen schon an der Demographie scheitert. Die Forderung hat dann jedoch auch das Problem, dass sie eine persönliche “Erbschuld” impliziert, die dann natürlich zurückgewiesen wird. Das steht im Kontrast zum Gedenken an die Opfer einerseits, was unabhängig von Fragen von persönlicher Schuld geboten ist. Und es steht im Kontrast zur historischen Aufarbeitung, die eine gesellschaftliche Verantwortung gegenüber den Opfern ist, und andererseits eine Verantwortung um derartige Verbrechen niemals wieder geschehen zu lassen.
Unter der Voraussetzung, dass du das korrekt widergibst, klingt das für mich irgendwie nach… Gefasel über Semantik. Ist jetzt das Problem wirklich das Wort “Erinnerungskultur” und die mit den einzelnen Wortbestandteilen verbunden Konnotationen? Dann nennt man es halt anders. Wissensgewinn, Lernen aus Fehlern, wie auch immer.
Die Differenzialrechnung muss man auch nicht alle paar Generationen neu entwickeln oder “selbst erleben”. Genau so wenig muss man sich daran “erinnern”, dass eine starke internationale Gemeinschaft und Ehrfurcht vor dem Leben eher gut und autokratische Systeme und Ungleichheit in Gesellschaften eher schlecht sind.
Dass all diese Dinge vielleicht in den letzten 50 Jahren hierzulande und weltweit nicht in ausreichendem Maße als ähnlich objektive und nützliche Wahrheiten verbreitet wurden wie Differenzialrechnung, hat komplexe und frustrierende Gründe, aber mit “Erinnerungskultur” denke ich wenig zu tun.

You’re styling it as “blow to pride”, but I’m quite certain that if that catastrophic drain on Russian resources and lives just… ended tomorrow without any tangible strategic gains (like a sustained destabilization of NATO) then people would literally start dying. Not the poor expendable footsoldiers, but people in charge. Can’t have that, so gotta keep expending that infantry.

That limits and gatekeeps access to an enormous degree. The IA wants to be useful to everyone, not just the tiny fraction of the world population savvy enough to use the internet for more than opening a browser and a chat client.

Counterpoint: The perpetration of this kind of rights violation precisely needs to be normalized to the point of meaninglessness. Intellectual property can either go away top-down (which considering the way things went over the past century is never going to happen) or it can go away bottom up - it has to be flaunted and disregarded by everybody via continued large-scale disobedience.
Or, of course, it could just never go away.

I meant that in the sense of “At least that young”. Yes naturally the age of first contact gets lower as computers become more commonplace. Then again I think true desktop computers are very much on the downturn once more.
