  • Aye, but in colder temperatures tight denim cools over leaving no air pocket to trap body heat or improve wind resistance. There’s no one on this planet that can generate body heat on such a level it can counters the atmosphere, so creating a little atmosphere inside the denim with loose jeans is the next best thing. It’s the same concept as single vs double glazed windows.

If you want tight pants in cold climate, need to use high textured material likecorduroy or fleece, otherwise add a thermal base layer under the denim.

  • I would guess these are the ones that still see themselves as God’s chosen people, superior to all others.

That level of nationalism could make neo-Nazis blush. The Abrahamic religion(s) rejected the much older Semitic traditions, but only after plagerising them, right down to the “Genesis” being Enuma Elish—boy, they hated the Babylonians, but they hated everyone, really. So then they whacked it under monotheism, where the one god conveniently chooses the Abrahamic people as the superior ones over the other Semites—what a fucking coincidence! 😲

It’s kinda like Nordicisim but instead of it being about some pseudo “Aryan race” or superiority though “social Darwinism”, it’s tribalism—12 to be exact. It evolved into superiority of ethnicity by divinie will, backed by ancient texts riddled with acts of genocide and regional conquest, excused as righteous divinity, despite no real obvious purposes behind them besides control.

So while they’re chanting “Death to Arabs” here and rolling out yet another round of localised ethnic cleansing there, they’re somehow avoiding the irony of being the most “antisemitic” of Semites, the Arabs being the largest group within, no less.

Its a level of nationalistic ideology you can’t stop overnight, lol. That shit runs deep on so many levels.

  • Heh. You just made me remember there’s a social stigma that political discourse is reserved for “the intellectuals”—it’s bullshit—so by expressing different ideas or opinions, someone can feel as though it’s first and foremost an attack on their intelligence.

We live in a society where people just constantly disrespect each other so we’re so on guard that even the most respectful intentions don’t have a chance of getting through. These days it’s much harder to just talk and bounce ideas back and forth until a balance is found. We all have way more common ground than we do differences, but we don’t act that way

I don’t like talking about politics with Americans. They have their own political language that barely makes sense. It never gets anywhere because I think I’m just talking to whatever media or social media channels they got trained off.

One could be called a socialist, a capitalist, or even a Nazi depending on who’s reading the comment, despite all being fundamentally insane conclusions to land on contextually.

I know you’re certainly not all like that, but compared to the rest of the world, the percentages are much, much higher; enough to not even bother.
