As an American I’m not really a fan of it mainly because it’s different from the World standard. We are the only country that insists on doing it different. It would not be hard to change either. Is it more expensive? Of course it is, that’s part of an equitable society. Also it means you end up with content you really like and not a bunch of junk.

YES, it pisses me off so much. Though I do kind see for some things having some upper limit of 256 for certain services. But I may be wrong in thinking that.

For example I want a secure bank password but I only need it so long. Mainly because unlike my E2EE service if they are servered a warrant or hacked through another service all my data is there. Basically I can only do so much.

To be fair it will be about as gental as it’s terminal volocity. Which is hard but like not that bad.

Also to be fair I feel like YouTube has a large amount of deadish Internet content or just content that can’t exist in a landscape that doesn’t reward getting clicks (think Mr. Beast and similar).

I had the exact same experience when I first tried Linux. But now when I am evily forced into using Windows and HATE it any other way. Also I despise the windows terminal now (PowerShell & CMD).

We all know pee goes on the floor. But the poops must go in the toilet. This makes the separation much easier.

I also don’t trust Microsoft to keep it turned off. Even if it is truly off (really hard to tell) what’s to say it doesn’t turn back on in an update. I want an OS I can trust.

It’s a great example of why I push for the use of technologies where I don’t have to trust companies to play nice with my data. If I use (correctly implemented) end to end encryption then you physically can’t access my data.

If they ever make this a standard feature in all TVs and make it where I can’t just disconnect it from the internet, I will be using old TVs for the rest of my life.

My TV is there to display a visual output. It does not and should not do anything else.

I don’t get why they listened to the Turkish government. There not (to my understanding) registered there or have any kind of assests there.
