I think the establishment is actually quite sensitive to unemployment figures because people that are unemployed have time to demonstrate.

Transistors were developed to replace tubes in telephone systems… Okay but the tubes had been developed to where they were because of their usefulness in radio.
And while computers don’t inherently rely on radio, it’s radio communication that’s taken computers from one in every office to one in everyone’s pocket. Right? The main thrust of the previous commenter is true.

Is Friday night the first night of the weekend or the last night of the work week?
I could be convinced that there is a part of Paris that is like that. It doesn’t look like a part of Paris anyone would want to spend much time in though.

Putting something you need to see where you can’t see it actually does have a short of efficiency logic to it.

I went to China on a business trip about 10 years ago. I was gobsmacked by how good they are at flattery. I was totally unprepared for it, and they didn’t even want anything from me.
Yeah I don’t think there’s any basis to the quote.
Interestingly the earliest composed Christian document that has been recovered (the didache, the copy we have is from Ca. 1000 CE, but seems to be in the original Greek) condemns infanticide, specifically including by exposure to the elements. It also prohibits private property so the document is not taken authoritatively by many modern christians.
Wait, so people can choose whether or not they’re subjected to hate speech? What tyranny!
If you don’t like the way communities are being moderated, maybe you should find/start a server that more aligns with your values.
They look awful. Slightly less awful when wrapped, but I heard that Tesla fucked up the bonding surface for wraps or something so they’re basically unremovable, but will deteriorate with age.

People using “American” to refer to anyone from the western continent (from a euro centric perspective) is conventional in some parts or the world. It’s not the convention in Canada, we bristle at the thought of being labeled Americans.
I saw a quote in the newspaper this morning:
We were losing hundreds of billions of dollars with China now we’re essentially not doing business with China. Therefore, we’re saving hundreds of billions of dollars. Very simple.
It’s just so incredibly wrong and stupid.

If crashes can reasonably be attributed over confidence in vehicle autonomy then imo those should also qualify as stuck too as it’s a Tesla failure resulting in a person/ vehicle being stuck.
