It doesn’t accomplish nothing. It chips away at the image of him as a strongman, which is one of the things his supporters care about the most. It’s obviously not going to solve the problem, but those small victories do matter and help keep morale up when things feel otherwise hopeless. The key is to keep pushing and pushing in any and every way possible.
My wife used to hate my i3 but it grew on her because it is a very cute car. They’re also way bigger than you’d think. I’ve had people that are 6’6" in mine with head/legroom to spare.
The number one thing to consider is having a heat pump. I live in SE Michigan with my i3, having owned one without a heat pump and now with, it’s night and day difference. Even when it’s -15F, I only lose about 30% range at most while it was closer to 50% without the heat pump. Preconditioning the battery makes that closer to only a 15% loss.
Right to work baby! At-will employment means “You can leave any time you want, but we can fire you any time we want.”
Big “How much could a banana cost? $10?” moment
Sadly, this probably concerns the average voter more than all the Nazi shit…
It’s not really as comforting as it sounds to say that there are people who care about trans rights when an even larger group wants us dead and gone.
You need to stop yourself for a second and realize that it’s not a larger group. It’s a louder group. Absolutely no one who mattered gave a fuck about trans people until we were turned into culture war fodder to distract people from the Right’s shitty policies. The vast majority of people do not care about trans people whatsoever, and that’s not a bad thing, because at that point we’re just like everyone else.
Sure, there are a lot of people who have been convinced they think trans people are bad, but the reality is that it’s a totally manufactured POV. They had nothing else meaningful to complain about, so they pick up on the easiest punching bags they can. But the moment they’re faced with a real issue, they will forget about you in a heartbeat.
I have family members who posted some absolutely vile anti-trans rhetoric during the election, and when they were shamed for their vote, they went on and on about how Trump was “protecting their daughters from trans people in bathrooms”. Now that their jobs are in jeopardy due to the tariffs and they’ve lost a significant number of benefits from all the DOGE cuts? Absolute silence on the anti-trans front.
I don’t mean to justify their actions or behaviors in any way, but I solely mean it as a way to protect yourself mentally from the shittiness going on in the world. It makes things just a tiny bit easier when you realize that it’s not that they hate trans people, it’s just that they are weak people looking for an easy punching bag, and unfortunately we’re the minority du jour they’ve chosen to latch onto for the time being.
That being said, it’s still a very real threat to us for the time being, and ensuring we’re all supporting each other and pushing back however we can is extremely important.
It absolutely does. Typically, all 4 wheel speed sensors are polled and averaged, so unless you’re doing lots of extended 4 wheel burnouts, you’re talking an incredibly small margin of additional error.
At a minimum they went along with it. “I was just following orders” is never an acceptable answer.
Use they, unless you know their pronouns. Unfortunately, a lot of people use “they” because they don’t want to use the correct pronouns and it seems more innocent than just overtly misgendering someone.
