I can’t help you for jellyfin, never installed it manually - I run it on unRaid Linux in docker.
What tasks you want to run on it? There is no universal server setup.
You can install FreeBSD under KVM and start learning. There is a qcow2 image on FreeBSD site so you can skip installation and boot right into the shell. And, start reading the handbook.
I thought you are running Linux? If not, I think there is virtualbox image (.vhd), too.
