Block early and block often. Probably the best decision I ever made was blocking lemmy.world from my feed.
Not sure if you’re trolling, but the Pacific Front was a pretty big deal for America. The Japanese didn’t surrender alongside the Germans.
I went to a public school and got 2/3rds of what you did, so I’m not really sure the issue is public vs private and more an issue of education in general in the U.S.
Really fucking stressed and hoping I can escape the country before I get killed.
Just an effeminate man. I don’t know if sexuality has much to do with it, but I’d say the majority of femboys are gay/bi with a minority being strictly heterosexual. To be real blunt, imagine the exact inverse of a tomboy, and you’re probably pretty close to a femboy. I like some p girly things, I like to wear skirts and dresses, but I also have a masculine side to me.
correct.
It seems like you’re really close to figuring out why a massive portion of the United States is willing to vote for anything as long as it’s not the status quo.
I don’t think it’s widespread or mainstream, but speaking as a femboy, we are fetishized a lot in general. Even normal people often just assume I’m hyperhorny, like the only reason I’m femmodeing is because I want cock. The creepy part about the right-wingers is they see us as “failed males” and specifically get off on the idea of asserting their dominance over us. There’s also a lot of dehumanizing and degradation that I see those types engaging in, beyond the typical “slut” that normal people do. They want to sexually abuse and violate femboys to feel better about their own fragile masculinity.
I’m very glad I live in a solid blue state and can go out safely, I think if I lived in a right-wing state I wouldn’t feel safe going femmode outside.
It’s actually very difficult for them to look up what tariffs are, because they read below a 4th grade level and are functionally illiterate. Most explanations regarding tariffs that I have read seem to assume a European high school level of reading proficiency.
Trump’s opinions are always based on who he last talked to.
Yeah, and I feel like we don’t abuse this fact enough for good. Sure, if he talks to Putin today he’ll flipflop, but right now it seems like Putin is foolishly scorning Trump. If members of the EU can just constantly talk with him, maybe they can try and stay the most recent person he’s talked with.
Really blows my mind that there hasn’t been any push from the left to just manipulate this idiot. Literally the most easily manipulatable president in U.S. history, but for some reason we’ve allowed right-wing grifters a monopoly on his dementia-addled rotten brain.
Considering a lot of us were projecting that the U.S. would begin arming Russia and the war would end quite dramatically in Russia’s favor? Yeah no change is a massive silver lining.
As I was sitting at my desk with some tea and a stroopwaffel, one of my coworkers commented that I “really knew how to live.”
I honestly feel like Smith gets a real bad rap from undereducated progressives. He would also have hated what the United States has morphed into, and I’m sure he’s spinning in his grave over people using his economic theories as justifications for pure laissez-faire capitalism. “The Invisible Hand of the Market” that conservatives use to justify trickle-down economics and often attribute to him isn’t even really his, it’s from a batshit insane later guy called Paul Samuelson! Smith only referred to it in the context of international investments, never this idea that “domestic corporations will always do what is good for the public.”
I don’t agree with everything in Wealth of Nations, but it seems a lot of people just dismiss Smith completely out of hand. We should talk about him just like we talk about Marx, his work is not useless nor trivial.
It already happened in the past and had dramatic consequences for trade in the U.S., that being “The Great Depression.”
We already know what happens. It didn’t stop someone from deciding to do it again.
My company has zero wait times and is a non-profit that gives money to children.
It’s the callers. There are a lot of people who are genuinely terrible and seem to feel like it’s okay to treat anyone they think is beneath them as terrible, to say nothing of the insane sexism/racism that people like to spew.
Are you really that surprised? I regularly see people even on Lemmy talking about how much they wish they could disconnect from everything going on and live a quiet peaceful life in the country. That’s essentially what all these people have chosen; they have decided the world is too scary for them and they don’t want to process it anymore. Things will continue to get worse for them, and they won’t have any idea why.
He backed down before Trump even yelled at him, this was never going to actually happen.
So there’s this state in the United States called Ohio, and it’s generally one of the worst places to be. If you’re “in Ohio” or “feeling Ohio,” you’re feelin bad.
it just means “looking” idk what’s so hard about it.
