Your intentions can be whatever. You are actively harming Lemmy and the fediverse as a whole.
Because they use the .ml instance and it’s influence as being associated as the “Official Dev Instance”
Really because every turn I see it seems like they push people away from joining .ml…
fair and unbiased as possible
What does this even mean?
bdonvr@thelemmy.clubto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Just saw this by chance: Donations and Patrons for Lemmy development surged massively on Liberapay in the last weeks!English1439·3 days agoWe get it, you hate Lemmy as a platform. You try so hard to make it less appealing by splitting discussions on posts by reposting stuff needlessly. Really makes Lemmy look even more unoriginal and boring seeing the same posts 3 times in different places all the time. Then you spearhead some movement to try to get people to not donate to Lemmy development at all, making it harder for these people who are trying to make Lemmy their life’s work to be able to even survive. It’s actually gross.
bdonvr@thelemmy.clubto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Driving a manual: is it difficult?4·5 days agoForeigners driving around isn’t that uncommon, especially in Europe…
Sure it’s possible that if stopped you may get hassled more than usual, made to wait while the officer asks the station what to do but there’s no real risk of anything more than that.
bdonvr@thelemmy.clubto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Driving a manual: is it difficult?21·3 days agoNo it’s pretty general. Check out the following international treaties:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva_Convention_on_Road_Traffic
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Vienna_Convention_on_Road_Traffic
As a benefit of these treaties, if I so chose (and were rich) I could even ship my car to Europe and just drive it around (up to 6 months) without really doing anything! It doesn’t need to meet most any of the EU car rules either.
Now if I tried to permanently import it, I’d have to make modifications like light colors and such to make it legal.
But really for visitors the rules are pretty lax. You need an international driving permit which is really just a translated license.
bdonvr@thelemmy.clubto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Driving a manual: is it difficult?54·5 days agoWith the Geneva convention on Road Traffic they must recognize it, at least for visitors. However you are probably right if OP tried to move there and get a local license, they’d need to retest.
bdonvr@thelemmy.clubto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Driving a manual: is it difficult?5·5 days agoIt’s not toooooo hard. But you will need a good little bit to get the feel for it.
And I don’t know how hilly Romania is but the first time your stall out on an incline you will feel embarrassed and likely honked at. And it will be all the harder to recover cause now you’re stressed about it.

Well really people should brush their teeth but also since people won’t - including parents who won’t make their kids do it, and that’s not their fault. So flourinate the water.

This is so obvious I don’t understand why it needs highlighting. Nobody here is suggesting you cannot have stuff.
No, not when exiting by land. Usually it’s not controlled. I’m sure it was already monitored though, at least by license plate.
But you can easily just drive into Canada or Mexico without really noticing until you hit Canadian/Mexican border control (if you ignore all the signs)
Although often for Mexico they don’t even check you when driving in from the US
Can we perhaps not use that term as a derogatory
