  • There’s a ten mile stretch of road that I live in a community off of. It’s a really busy road. Grocery store, gas stations, fast food restaurants, one of the elementary schools, one of the middle schools, and the high school. So while it’s normally busy it’s insane during school start and release times. There is a five mile section in the middle of that ten mile stretch where the sidewalk is on the opposite side of the main road for some reason. They decided to make bike lanes by painting lines and bike symbols on the road on the sidewalk side for the entire stretch of road. While they have crosswalks with lights at all the regular intersections, at each end of that five mile ‘bike lane’ they painted a dashed yellow line path across traffic to transfer the bike path to the other side and put blinky amber lights on each side of the road.

I’m fairly certain you would need to be suicidal to knowingly traverse that bike path from start to finish. It’s bad enough you’re kissing mirrors the entire ride but then you would need to cross a busy street, twice, with no actual assurance anyone will actually stop for you. The cherry on top is there’s also an increased number of student drivers on the road regularly from the high school.

  • I understand the bitching and they are certainly stupid. I get defensive about it a bit because not everybody has the head on their shoulders to separate things, read the online discourse, and screw themselves over. Everyone knows it’s stupid, just play the damn game. I don’t want some junior inexperienced person setup for failure because they got themselves a hot head is all. Appreciate the clarification.

That person is an idiot without any actual real world experience. Good on you for sharing useful information. I’ve had colleagues and employees like him lose their job before even being hooked up because of their shit attitude and my advice to folks boils down to the same. Be respectful, be transparent, even if embarrassing (there is nothing they haven’t heard before), and just give your “yes”, “no”. Best case you don’t see them again for 3-5 years, worst case it’s inconclusive and they will run it again a couple times and you will be more used to what’s expected. Go in with a shit attitude with your head up your ass and nobody is feeling bad that you pissed away a salary/job security perk and will never think about you again after a weeks time as they press on checking the box and taking care of themselves.

I don’t feel anything positive when I complete stuff. It makes daily chores exceptionally difficult. The only coping mechanism I’ve found that kind of works is a stupid little game I made on my home assistant dashboard. I get a point every time I complete a task and every six hours it deducts a point. I have it track current and high score. I have a high score of 24 because one weekend I got fed up at myself for spending weeks never getting more than 3 points. I’m sitting down around 10 points now as I try to slowly prevent the score from trickling all the way to zero. I don’t even require it to be a big task either. Take out trash, cook a meal, do dishes, clean out fridge, clean counters, burn boxes. Everything I do feels like an internal battle for me to do and once I’m done I know I’m just going to have to do it again. Oh yay, did the laundry, good thing that’s just going to need done again in a week. I don’t even enjoy eating, everything is a constant stream of chores and bs that doesn’t accomplish anything.

  • I get a lot of leaves. I have a battery powered 60v leaf blower. I blow them away from my foundation so I don’t get a rotting mound around my house. Then I have to blow those away or they won’t biodegrade without leaving giant dirt patches. What I’ve found works well is blowing them into the forest bed at the edge of my property. The deer and other animals seem to help break them down. I don’t have to worry about them until fall but there are just too many to leave lie where they land. I go through three batteries a day over the course of weeks to keep them from building up really bad. I’m not a mow every week manicured lawn kind of person either. Right now most of my back yard is over a foot tall with a mowed area for my small dog.

I also like the leaf blower for cleaning off my gutter guards, drive, lawn mower, garage floor, deck, and even when it’s just a light snow I’ll go out a few times to blow everything off so I don’t have to shovel.

  • First, I think everyone should want to contribute to social welfare that bolsters the economy and society. I think it’s abhorrent to contribute to that negatively and maliciously, even if indirectly, and then try to further drag everyone down. She’s a cancer.

You think a child being raped only harms the individual that’s raped? Ever heard of seconds and third order effects? I disagree that the only person negatively impacted was the child he raped.

  • Forgiving student loans is social welfare that will bolster the economy and society collectively.

Her son being a degenerate child rapist burdens society to ensure the safety and security of its populace from his abhorrent ‘need’ to get his dick wet in children.

If anything she should be fighting for more broad societal benefits since she produced and raised such a destructive piece of shit.

  • They hang out in my yard. When they are in my yard I walk out holding my dog so they see him. They watch while I walk out into the yard and I say “I’m letting him down now”, then as I lower him one of them invariably lets out a really unique short screech and they all run off to the woods followed by my dog running full speed, stopping at the tree line, and then carrying on doing his business as the deer stand off in the trees watching him in the yard, waiting for us to go back inside so they can come hang out in the yard again.
