7·21 days ago… Danish unity party called the new US powers “alarming”. The party’s foreign affairs spokesperson, Trine Pertou Mach, told Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten: “It is quite far-reaching that we are handing over law enforcement powers to a foreign country’s military police.”
According to the agreement it is irrevocable for 10 years. But last week, the Danish foreign minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, said that if the US were to take over Greenland, Denmark would be able to pull out early.
“It goes without saying that a complete or partial American annexation of Greenland would entitle Denmark to terminate the defence cooperation agreement,” he wrote in a parliamentary response.
It’s fine to give the violent domestic abuser many big guns and keys to the house, because there’s a protection order. So if the victim is killed, we can kick out Mr Bullyface.

The United States has been dodging the ICC since Bush the Younger yipped out. Membership and retroactive accountability is long overdue, and hopefully it will start with ICE.
Stop it. It’s bad enough we have to wade through nearly two years of campaign assaults prior to POTUS elections. The spectacle of the last inauguration was just 14 weeks ago, and we’re fucking exhausted. Just stop it.

When I was working in property management, certain people would frequently call me in the middle of the night for what they considered emergencies. They’d wake me up because a stove burner wouldn’t heat, or a lightbulb was out, or they just remembered that a door creaks. This shit got old real fast, so I began training the night callers that “emergency means Fire, Flood, or Death”.
One man was unfazed by my Fire, Flood, or Death mantra, so every time I saw his number ring in, I just shouted into the phone FIRE FLOOD OR DEATH? FIRE FLOOD OR DEATH?!

A rare atmospheric phenomenon that is due to extreme temperature variations in Spain. Meteorologists in Spain are not reporting any unusual temperatures, so I guess someone forgot to loop in the weather community.
Meanwhile, the estimated time to resolve the power outage has gone from around 10 hours to maybe a week.
1·3 months agoWatching such a personal aspect of this fucking atrocity might be more than most of us can bear, but we all need to see this. Nobody has the right to look away.
It’s 1800 miles from Yaviza, Panama to Oaxaca, Mexico, and these little munchers made it in 2 years.
Oaxaca to Brownsville, TX is 766 miles, so the US could see them arrive in a few months. Seems speedy to me.
