I don’t even know how they managed this. I regularly create test repos to reproduce bugs in open source software, to go with the bug report. When it contains some random generated credentials only used within that repo, Github freaks out and I need to tell it it’s just testing shit and perfectly fine to publish.

Sweet and savory is a god tier class of food IMHO. Pineapple on pizza is just the tip of the delicious iceberg. Have you tried peaches with rice and curry? Or raisins in rice? I also like sweet and sour sauce, especially with little pieces of assorted fruits.
My girlfriend hates it, in her opinion the only way to go with savory is salt. But she tolerates pork and pineapple on pizza, since the salty pork overpowers the sweet of the pineapple. But I love it!

I’ve been looking for an alternative as well. My gaming friends always use Skype when we play together. We started a million years ago when Skype was huge and everyone had it and since it kept working, we kept it around.
We tried a lot of stuff, but nothing just works the way Skype always did. Why did MS have to be bitches and get rid of it.

Europe isn’t as brainwashed as the US when it comes to communism. The reasons the EU doesn’t want to rely as much on China is because of the human rights violations, lack of ethics, lack of social provisions, environmental issues, broken agreements and abuse of power for example.
It’s a really nuanced and complex issue, just shouting communism bad seems like a strawman that has nothing to do with the real issues.
Large parts of Europe have social systems that in the US would be labeled as communism. There are places that investigate and have run trials on things like UBI. There’s more to the world than communism and capitalism. And for my own two cents, both systems are deeply flawed.

When my grandpa used to visit every Tuesday, he would join us for dinner, then some coffee after dinner. We would sit on the couch and chat a bit and at some point grandpa would fall asleep. One thing to note, if you are using UEFI this is very unlikely to happen. It was designed from the start to have multiple boot options and Windows itself often has multiple entries. It is very rare for a Windows update to mess with any other boot options in UEFI.
You can just use an activation script. Even though technically Windows won’t be activated using the OEM license in a VM, the license is still present on the machine. So legally Windows is still licensed. To get around the thing not automatically activating, an activation script is an easy fix.

They’ve been dumping all this AI crap for free or way too cheap. The idea is to create a market which can be exploited in the future. However this isn’t sustainable, they have poured billions into this, there is no way they are ever going to make that money back. It’s just a matter of time before the bubble collapses and it will make the dotcom bubble popping look like a fish farted in the ocean. And for you people too young to remember what that bubble bursting was like, it was bad. The sooner the bubble bursts, the less bad it will be.
This all wouldn’t matter as much, fuck the companies right? Except the little side effect of this whole thing is us using up our precious resources, using up our planet, bringing about horrific scenarios at an alarming pace. We’ve barely seen what climate change can do, but at this pace we are going to find out.
And don’t get your hopes up on the technology improving and becoming more useful. More and more indicators have shown the diminishing returns are hitting hard. And it was a kind of one time thing, one opportunity to train models on all the data humans created and put on the internet. Now that more and more of the internet is being AI generated and people closing access to AI crawlers, the well has been poisoned. All that crappy data created worse performing models, not better. Sure with more raw power and clever tricks the performance can get somewhat better, but it needs to be much much better to do what companies tell you it can do, in order to sell it.
And I haven’t even mentioned the morality issues, copyright issues, propaganda/control and educational issues. Let alone accidentally hitting the singularly and wiping out humanity due to some paperclip problem.
Exceptions exist, like expert systems / machine learning in data processing and analysis. But we’ve had those for decades and just recently got the AI label to ride the hype.
AI needs to go away, sooner rather than later.
