I like birds and plants

There seems to be an increased reporting on Burkina Faso across Western media and that means we have another coup coming up soon of course
Today I was helping a dude at my work and when we were finished he looked at me and said’ : ‘I’m from Turkey and I think you are a very handsome man, especially with your [my distinct facial qualities].’ And I thought to myself: this is the behavior we should normalise lol. Uplift our fellow homies out there.
We basically had that last year and because of the drastic different the soil is even more messed up as it’s now basically a piece of hard, dry brick that won’t suck up any water. You’d think that we’d be able to store up some reserves after such a wet year but nope.
At least you’re making a difference with the trees for the next few years. Hopefully your specific patch of garden will be less impacted or better manageable in the future.
I shall personally bully every single person who speaks out against him
Partly mismanagement, partly societal factors. We are a huge agricultural area and farming, especially cattle farming, takes up enormous amounts of water. It’s the same in The Netherlands who probably has an even larger cattle farming industry.
Lawn fetishism also plays a part. Gotta have green grass which is useless for biodiversity and a really bad ground water retainer.
Also, it really is not raining at all. We are normally having 16% of rain in March over here. But this year it is around 2%. We haven’t even seen rain for april I think.
The thing is: a genocide claim is so bold and so out there that many people seem to fear disproving it. The difference with Palestine is that no media outlet in the west is actively claiming genocide on Palestinians despite that happening and many people seem to fear to call it one because they fear some backlash. The same thing is happening with Xinjiang except the other way round: people fear being shunned for denying a genocide.
The genocide claim makes it almost impossible to actually have a discussion about what is going on in Xinjiang. It’s the same as with the Soviet Union. So much bullshit has been published about it that an actual discussion is basically no option with your average Westerner. The propaganda runs deep and needs hours upon hours of ‘deprogramming’ so to say.
I heard that the directors quit and were replaced by an interim board of directors in March, only for them the quit yesterday.
Maybe they just secretly decided to go to my specific gym
The Dutch union seems to be in absolute shambles due to infighting. We have that too but it just stays private.
Nobody is criticizing men for wanting to be fit. I actively encourage them to do so. However, an urge to be fit does not necessary means you have to become an misogynistic asshole. You build positive masculinity by revealing the fascist nature many gym bros currently have and offer an alternative.
When my parents first bought a home they had the option to get a free dishwasher and a free laundry machine with it because people couldn’t sell their house if their lives depended on it. Then they sold that house for profit, buying their current house that they have been living in for nearly 20 years now. They bought this house cheap and managed to get some profit off their previous sale as well.
Their current house is now worth somewhere between 500 and 600k. It is up nearly 300k from the purchase price. There is no way you can get such an increase in wealth in the same amount of time by just working. And the wages are stagnant. I will never be able to do what they have done in our current syste.
Man I love no mow may. So many flowers and interesting plants starting to pop up everywhere. It’s sad that it will be destroyed at the end of the month because of no fucking reason.
And every week it’ll be like ‘there’s going to be rain this week’ only for it to be a blue sky with full sun
It’s scary how little rain we had this year so far. I can think of maybe a day or five with some rain. And nobody seems to care.
Just finished reading The Vegeterian by Han Kang. I think more people should read it but to say it was a fun book goes too far. Disturbing is a better word I guess.
Ultimately it is a critique of the societal role of women in (Korean) society. Also important was the idea that the ultimate enforcer of societal roles is violence and that those who will reject it will be subjected to violence, while at the same time receive another form of violence for not rejecting it.
Wouldn’t be a leftist org without some infighting
Gathered all of my coworkers to discuss the making of a plan to undermine our management as our working conditions are horrendous. And we did come up with a proposal. If they won’t listen or the answer isn’t okay for us, we will take further action. And if that doesn’t work, we will deny them their authority and start working on our own agreed upon terms.
Gotta love a good worker uprising don’t we.
Socdes over here launched a campaign for Palestina all of a sudden only to vote against pro Palestinian measures in parliament
Uncritical support to this man and his country’s struggle against westerners
