I had to avoid looking at this topic elsewhere because it made me so fucking angry. My best friend in the entire world is trans, and she’s coming for Christmas this year. I’m not sure what I’d do if someone harassed her for using the toilet, but I get the feeling my mugshot would be in the paper afterwards.
If your only job is to go home at night, clock in, go home, clock out again later. If you think about it, by deliberately not doing your job as a cop, fewer people are getting killed.
The only thing Twitter has over something like Bluesky is the fact that Bluesky is so milquetoast and nice that you don’t really get any of the drama you get on Twitter. Like, I never see comic fans going “Black Bolt would DESTROY Saitama in a fight!” and anime fans going “Nu uh! ONE PUNCH!” on Bluesky.
Same with Lemmy tbh. Lemmy is 80% politics, 5% memes about politics, 5% memes about Lemmy being better than Reddit, and 10% Linux.
Sensitivity and fellowship, yet my (former) friend who is a big stoner has gone all-in on conspiracy theories and is championing the Reform party in the UK because Labour are apparently race traitors. Guess weed can’t do all the lifting.
Or when you’ve finished about 80% of your task, but the remaining 20% might as well be millions of miles away because it’s almost impossible to finish anything.
I will actively go and do other people’s work for them, just to avoid the remaining 20% of the work I need to do. It isn’t even hard work! I could get it done in an hour if I put my mind to it! My brain will simply not turn towards what needs doing!
