GOP politics and agenda are all about control. And religion historically has always been a means of control. Add a more aggressive form of indoctrination instead of education in schools so that you have young people just smart enough to profitable but brainwashed into not being free thinkers who go tribal against anyone against their tribe. Once you have people replacing morality with religion you can alter that religion to match what ever you want as a means of control.

Think of it like and air conditioner or refrigerator. The the attempt that cool the inside by dumping heat outside uses a closed loop and the two mediums do not directly interact or mix, which is why your home isn’t full of pollen when running an air conditioner all day if your windows and doors all properly seal.

The steam you see coming off a cooling tower is not the water than went through the reactor or turbine, a secondary cooling loop is used specifically cause the plants are not allowed to release radioactive material in any form, including the cooling processes.

The real reason this idea would not work is the same problem desalination has, making clean and safe drinking water is the easy part, it’s what are you doing with all the contaminants and water products left behind that quickly becoming a concentrated pool of filth and toxins at the bottom of your heat exchanger.

Cognitive dissonance is a very real thing. I think it’s a defense mechanism since these people need to believe the group who reflects their beliefs and values must but the best option, bending their (perception of) reality to their opinions rather than the other way around.

Don’t know these people could live with themselves if they suddenly realized the people they support have no interest in solving their problems and just using them.
