You seem to have a more nuanced take than the icon guide provides room for. No one in their right mind is going to complain about having legitimate safe spaces to grow, but it is by very definition segregation to grow public communities with engrained exclusion.

We ARE at the last option in some cases,
I would hope anyone saying as much keeps it at a case by case basis, but it is purely ignorance that drives you to think it is not true for anyone.

Should the US never joined in the war? Should the Poles and French simply rolled over to the Nazis? You seem to be saying yes, which is simply pathetic beyond ignorance.
Yea, it’s a big reason I don’t display much. I tend to like the bad examples as warnings or otherwise weird/niche stuff in general, and I don’t like to peacock much anyways. So putting up something I’d have to explain is just not happening.
I just dislike very much people who jump to conclusions, at least in more nuanced cases than the OP comic, like your examples of the kissing lesbians and Clockwork Orange.
Yea, the Heath Ledger joker is better, though that’s a damn high bar. I just wish the sequel would’ve properly developed the new Joker, because they could’ve made it glaringly obvious how idolizing or immitating him in any way is a bad, dumb idea. Instead they made the lamest movie of 2024.

There are also plenty of external DNS servers, so pretty hosed anyways without controlling the devices they use directly.
Get off lemmy.ml
More left than twitter, inept fool.
DuckDuckGo doesn’t hide your IP. Your IP is a fundamental networking number used to route traffic to your computer. It can also change for many home internet service providers over time, so it’s a bit stupid of Reddit to use them, though they might be using more advanced fingerprinting mechanisms and merely saying IP.

If it were plain water, do you think they’d go through the effort to make a separate bucket of it? Also, if they’re not rinsing off crud before putting the rag back in the bucket, they’re doing it wrong.

If you complain about providing tablets, then I ask: which is more wasteful? Printing a handful of menus each time it changes, or an entire set of tablets?

Someone not tech savvy might actually not know the difference between a website and qr code, because the vast majority of qr codes are URLs.
Sure, maaaybe not on Lemmy, but they DID start with, “I hate qr codes”…

Your ignorance is astounding.

The woefully intollerant should not be tolerated. It just depends on how you “don’t tolerate” them that determines how upsetting of a response someone has.
For example, just literally disenfranchising them might be enough … or at least could have been. Though after the intolerant gain enough power, there remains very, very few functional options. It’s literally all of the lessons that came out of WW2…
“first they came for the socialists…”

Sure, if the cell has signal, the home wifi settings won’t matter, but…
I guess my point is: By the time we’d be able to travel that far, we’d have the ability to make all such observations without showing up on the planet.
Though on the other side of the coin, if interstellar travel were so ubiquitous, who’s to say all aliens would behave in such hands-off ways? Maybe any aliens that would visit Earth would be the equivalent to rednecks driving out in to the woods to shoot squirrels. Or in a more innocuous analogy, bird watching without binoculars.
