  • They could remove the Dock. They just dont want to.

If you made a multiplayer Video game with a cult following, which cant compete even slightly to other, more modern games, would you a) just release all QoL and content stuff in a single big patch and have to compete with the better games, or b) drip feed your cult your updates slowly, doing a small update every 5 years and locking it behind a DLC, so you never have to worry about your users Adapting to modern standards and even seeing the others as an alternative?

Thats what apple is doing. If they would just add every single modern thing into a smartphone, other smart phones would start being competition, and worse, they would have to start innovating again. Instead, they are waiting years every time they do the slightest update to their design, making sure to alter the technology enough so consumers can’t adapt to modern technology without having to learn how to use it from scratch.

  • People be misinforming way more than AI itself

Exactly. They love/hate xy so much, they just Start saying the most uninformed stuff.

For example „Linux is great because every Supercomputer runs on it”. I have so many arguments how this is an utter nonsensical argument ,starting with „so you think every computer on this world uses pretty much unique Hardware which only works with software written for itself and therefore requires a tailored costum Linux kernel?” and ending with „So most enterprise businesses use windows 7 to this day, so its the best OS ever right?”

Not that I amost die of too high blood pressure every single time I have to use a windows machine, but these kinds of arguments are just nonsensical and don’t help anyone who’s just hearing about linux

  • If you only need iTunes for your iPod, there is a music manager alternative on Linux, its a GNOME app but I dont know the Name

For old games Theres ScummVM, and if its the DRM that wont work you might as well just pirate it, since you own the games anyway

Also I meant about 80% of all users, who only use it to browse the web and use some simple things like image viewers and stuff. For those people, Linux would be more than enough, if not even better because most software is OSS, but most of them just don’t want to learn how a computer works, and instead just opt for the method I just described
