Krafting@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com set up a AI image generator bot on the Threadiverse for anyone here to freely use1211·22 days agoI didn’t know about this, and I tested it on mastodon and it’s awesome! Thanks db0!
Krafting@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•I got a free HP DL380 G5, so I blogged about it !English1·26 days agoYeah true, but compared to what performance you can have with “normal” hardware, the difference is huge! I’m never saying it can’t be done, but the difference exists!
Krafting@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•I got a free HP DL380 G5, so I blogged about it !English3·27 days agoYeah I have a G6 and a few G8 at home, they are nice machines, even though newer generation feel way cheaper with more plastic…
And yeah I see how it could be confusing I’ll change that ahah!
Krafting@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•I got a free HP DL380 G5, so I blogged about it !English2·27 days agoI mean it would work, but depends on the load, it can definitely host some website, be used as a backup server or something. I installed a modern version of proxmox and even plain debian on it, so it would definitely work. But performance would be poor for heavy task like a game server.
As for the consistency itself, the server would run 24/7 without an issue, and it’s still built like a tank and it has been made to be resilient!

I have a friend, curently doing a master in cybersecurity, got ransomware’d because he cracked a game on a fake fitgirls site :')
I technically didn’t make this as I based myself on something existing, but if one day I make my own i could share it there yeah
Sounds like the best place to discuss it, yeah !
Hey Hi Camus
And yes, I found it funny because french people are often angry and hates/criticize everything (Which I am guilty of btw)
I’d be happy to make a more accurate version and a more useful version, but I’d need some help with this ! maybe I could create a matrix group to talk about it sometime in the future !
I’d love to have more software as well, and I just reinterpreted the OG joke in the fediverse, but yeah the userbase on the fediverse is mostly linux nerd and femboy anyway, I’d love to make an accurate graph some time !
Maybe one day I could make a better graph with most fediverse software, but I might need some help ahah
Yes, I put lemmy.world because the logo looks cooler

I think Vernissage was the name of two thing :
- One dedicated ActivityPub server
- One Pixelfed app (now know as Impressia)
I’ve check and their AP docs date back from 2023 so yeah must have been a while https://developers.minds.com/docs/decentralization/activitypub
