That is true, but people start to agree with Republicans more when they personally affected. People don’t like spikes in the price of anything, especially gasoline.
Yeah as much of an environmentalist that I am, I don’t think prices surging that high in California (and the west coast in general, is my understanding) would be great from an environmental aspect. In the short term there would be some reduction in gas use, but I can imagine Republicans and other pouncing on this politically to roll back some environmental legislation.

Hate to spoil the anti cybertruck band wagon here, but apparently the owner discovered that they were doing something wrong. I think they seated the charger incorrectly, which allowed it to charge for a bit, but then the safety mechanism from the truck turns off the charging. These trucks and other electric vehicles can charge at this temperature range, but they will have reduced range.
Elon is still a Nazi, and these trucks look horrendous.

Well china is completely anti free market.so I’m actually surprised more countries aren’t charging more tarrifs on them. Also, I don’t think most major countries are completely protectionist free.
So reasons include: politics (Lots of swing voters work in the auto manufacturing industry that would get pissed with an influx of chinese cars), national security (worries of the type of information Chinese cars would send back home), and lastly industry protectionism.
As much as this sucks, I kind of agree. We really don’t want to rely on China until they prove to reliably not want to screw us. If this was Taiwan, Mexico, any country from the EU, etc. I would definitely want their cheap EVs to hit our market and bloody up the american manufacturers.
if you don’t use your phone very much, why even spend 500 USD on it? you can probably get a 200 usd phone to serve the same function. Honest question.
