Oh. What is the point then? /gen

It didn’t work out because the design didn’t change, it was reinforced. Each attempt failed because there was no actual effort to understand why it’s not working. Like wraping a leaky rusted pipe in ducktape.
To everybody acting like the desire path is the problem:
- If the problem for you is that it’s ‘bad’ or ‘illegal’, grow a spine so that when you need to break the law, for something that matters, you can do it with dry pants.
- If the design doesn’t take into account how people will interact with it, it’s bad and lazy. Only time it would be acceptable to ‘force’ a way to interact with something is when there are safety concerns, and there are none here.
- You are traped in a cage of your own making, break free or perish like the dog you are.

Fifrok@discuss.tchncs.deto Europe@feddit.org•Tobacco companies are worried about a European-wide coordinated tax increase.English193·14 days agoThe most common justification for taxes on tabacoo products is that they’re bad for the health of the general public, and the same goes for e-smoking.
This is only semi-related but I dislike e-smoking more than cigs, mainly cuz people that vape seem to think nobody is bothered by it and sometimes just straight up do it in public buildings, smokers atleast are selfaware and at the very least step away from people when they need a puff from the good’ol cancer stick
Fifrok@discuss.tchncs.deto Europe@feddit.org•Germany says far-right ideology behind record 40% rise in politically motivated crimesEnglish1·2 months agoGovernments get to decide what speech is illegal these days, and do so to push their agenda.
That has always been the case, pick any time in any goverment and you will find that. That’s just how goverments work.
things that the far left don’t like so call “far right hate speech” to censor it and push their desired narrative
Please, do tell, where is this place that has a ‘far left’ with enough power to that? Not germany, CDU is in power right now and they are center-right, left-wing (but not far-left) Die Linke has got around 8-9% of votes in the last election. There is not a single european country that has a far-left party in power. The biggest far-left organisation in my area is food-not-bombs (pl. jedzenie zamiast bomb) but I think they would have a hard time trying to censor anything, considering that the only thing they do is give meals for people in need.
I mean this with the biggest offence possible: AI judges make no sense, atleast with the current way of doing AI (LLMs). It’s been known for years that they amplify any bias in their training data. You are black? Higher chance of going to prison and longer serving time. Getting divorced and are male? Your ass is NOT getting custody. Hell, even without that the LLM might just hallucinate some crime not in the data for a case and give you a life time prison sentence. And if you somehow manage to avoid all that, what’s stopping somebody from just shadowprompting it and getting the judgement they want? It would also be an easy target for corruption, the goverment wants their poltical rivals gone? Tweak the model so it’s just that bit harsher, or just a bit more alligned with some other interpretatnion of the law.
Who would even choose the training data? The judges? Why would they, it would be better for them to sabotage and keep their jobs. Some goverment agency then? Don’t want to do that, or you’re gonna find out separation of power has a reason.
Bad idea.
You really want to give any power over yourself and others to the bias amplification machine?
Works fine for me, might be something on your end
Sure, but the health impact of a modern laser printer is on par with other daily health hazards at worst. Modern toner shouldn’t contain anything dangerous, nanoparticles could be a problem depending on amount of printing and the printer model, but if you live in a city you will breathe in more by opening a window. Ozone is emmited during printing but in small enough amounts that it will be problematic only in a small room with shit ventilation and tons of printing, and I mean tons, atleast a couple of books worth.
Yes? The new path is there because it’s still shorter, people don’t walk in straight lines and sharp angles. That design is still lazy and not thought out
