Summary

Donald Trump pleaded with Vladimir Putin to stop attacking Ukraine after another set of deadly strikes rocked Ukrainian capital Kyiv, urging him to secure a peace deal.

“I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying…”

The Trump team has repportedly proposed a deal that would essentially grant Russia all the territory it has gained since 2014, and block Ukraine joining NATO.

Zelensky has ruled out recognizing Russia’s 2014 takeover of Crimea, a region of Ukraine, in any peace deal, warning the proposal “violated our Constitution.”

What did FDR do to stop the invasion though? I thought the US sat that one out and joined the fight only after the turning point, and the European war only at the very end?

Well yeah it isn’t a perfect analogy. Replace FDR with Churchill if you want.

But also America joined the war in December 1941 so it wasn’t at the very end. And sent a huge amount of equipment to England and Russia, like was done for Ukraine under Biden.

Tough man Trump is on a roll again. Backs down in his tariffs… again. Backs down against Harvard. And pleads with Putin to end the war he promised to end in 24 hours… 93 days ago.

    What a weak, pathetic troglodyte.

Pretty embarrassing, but still better than day 1155 of a three day operation.

Well, they both increase at a rate of one day per day, so they’re kind of parallel lines, but since Trump said once day and Vova said three, I guess they can kind of cross after two or three years.

Trump posted on his Truth Social platform on Thursday.

Honestly not sure if he thinks social media is how POTUS communicates with other world leaders or if this is just a show and he does not realize how weak and impotent this makes him look.

It is clear that Americans (not only Trump, but also Biden, and locals too) fundamentally do not understand how to deal with russians.

I was having a chat with a taxi driver last winter when the electricity blackouts were really bad (I live in Ukraine). I said, we should bomb the heating/electricity generation in Norilsk in the middle of winter.

The driver tells, that’s not going to work, if you do bomb russia, it has to be Moscow or at least Saint Petersburg.

To which I answer, “yes, you are right, they don’t care what happens outside of Moscow or Saint Petersburg. I am stressed out and not thinking straight.”

The vast majority of russians only understand believable threats and violence. You have to show them that you are able and willing to make them feel pain, otherwise they are not going to respect you or behave seriously.

And when you do show them that you are able and willing to make them feel pain, it has to be targeted primarily at their elite (i.e. Moscow and Saint Petersburg).

But since 2014, I’ve learned that Western elites (and not only elites) reflexively refuse to address reality. Not only Trump/Biden, the Germans with Angela Merkel too. Right after the annexation of Crimea she launched NS2. Hope she gets severe Alzheimer’s.

Oh it’s not wrong, it’s just bad timing. And he’s very sorry about Putin’s soldiers dying.
