Everything is a web page now
“When the only programming language you know is Javascript, everything looks like a web page.”
You’d be hard pressed to find this kind of screen that isnt a web page. It’s much, much more convenient. You don’t need to deploy an application across the entire company, you just throw a tiny script on all machines that simply pull up the applicable web page. All updates happen in one centralized location, and the pages automatically update.
Hello, fellow Oslo-person!
Worked with developing the software for these kinds of screens. We used Vue and Node for everything. Built the custom screens ourselves with raspberry pi:s and alot of custom parts. Made everything from bus/train stop signs and the screens on the bus to the travel agency tools to monitor and schedule trips. Everything from the same tool built in JS.
