As the title states I’ve got bad hands and my hobbies include Rock Climbing, Piano, Golf, and Running. Suffice to say I can’t do shit.

This was a tricky operation as where the bend was is also where all the nerves and blood vessels are housed so there is risk of termination (loss of) the finger, loss of sensation, blood supply etc.

It was elective but the pros outweigh the risks for me with my hobbies and how they help me stay not sad.

Before. You can also see the scar from my first operation on the ring finger. As well as lots of flaky skin from climbing.

completely shattered left jawbone. happened april 29th, got surgery may 1st.

had to get 4 screws into a plate, and 4 more screws and 2 wires to hold it all in place (and my mouth shut) for 26 days. the plate and screws are never coming out, but the other 4 screws and wires came out yesterday. had A.Y.C.E sushi to celebrate. was a fun night.

all in all, broken jaw was a 2/10 experience, would not recommend.

look on the bright side tho, worst case for you, you get a cool-ass robot hand, and can make all the “yo gimme a hand here” jokes you can imagine.
