How bad are touchpads then?
Who holds their hands in a vertical position while idle? My hands are 99% of the time in the “Un-natural” position and if yours isn’t you might be made of lego.
kinda got sidetracked from the actual meme because i read “prostitute” in the lower-right corner
Why all the saddam memes?
Don’t even fucking notice him anymore. He’s just everywhere. Making chemical weapons.
Memes aside, this is why I use a vertical gaming mouse. Carpal tunnel is no longer an issue.
Is there an actual gaming mouse? Last time I checked those all were horrible office-mice at best.
I use this one. (Zelotes C-18)
Yes it’s Chinese, but it is a real gaming mouse. Decent build quality, and unlike other cheap Chinese mice, it tracks perfectly without skipping frames. I use it to play competitive shooters. The software it comes with is straightforward and easy to use for button mapping. You also get 5 DPI settings that can be manually set to anything you want.
My only complaint is that I wish the joystick was a D-Pad because it’s not analog. So it’s not really meant for one-handed gaming, but it’s useful for stuff like weapon switching, or other functions that would normally be assigned to the D-Pad if you were playing with a controller. Also it would be nice if the RGB lights were compatible with SignalRGB or OpenRGB, but very few Chinese products are so I simply turned off the lights in the included app.
I’ve been using it for over four years and if it ever breaks, I’ll just get another one. Best mouse I’ve ever owned.
This actually looks pretty nice I’ve been looking for a new mouse after my left click sometimes slightly falls off every now and then on my alien ware mouse
So can I bind WASD to the joystick? I sometimes eat at my pc and being able to move would be nice
Can I set up additional bindings (are there any other buttons on it I skimmed) or per game bindings too
On my current mouse back when I was really into planetside I have f1 and f2 for vehicle switching on my mouse and now it’s just on the default profile and F1 and 2 are usually a second binding for what I wanna put on my mouse
You can bind any key or mouse action to any button (including the joystick). The joystick is bound to WASD by default. You can also set up macros.
I believe that there is also support for per-game bindings, but I don’t use that feature so I’m not 100%. I can confirm for you when I get home from work in 5 hours, but I have ADHD so you’ll have to remind me.
Are you me from an alternate time line?
I don’t use I game profiles much either but i was just curious. But I noticed it’s only $30 (which is good I’m trying to save money) but overall would you say it’s good?
It has a better build quality than Logitech mice (which used to be the gold standard as far as I’m concerned), so yes I’d say that it’s good.
Ah that’s pretty cool, I might try this one out then, TSYM for shairng
Damn, this one looks like it could do the job for me. I’m pretty picky and need my share of customizable buttons. Even got a joystick…
Don’t care if Chinese, although that often just means driver will never get an update and maybe it stops working next os-version and never ask about Linux 😁
But thanks for the hint and review…guess I’ll just get one, even if from the US…I’m not a patient motherfucker 😁
You’re probably correct about the drivers, but the nice thing is that the keybindings and DPI settings are stored in the mouse, and thus are OS agnostic. So the software is basically set once and forget. Don’t even need to keep it installed after you’ve set the bindings you like.
And BTW the joystick can have 5 bindings on it because it also clicks in. Plus a 3rd button below the mouse (which I use as the DPI switch). So including the standard 5-button layout, you get a total of 11 mappable buttons.
Onboard-profile is indeed a good thing. I rarely change my setup anyway and wouldn’t need the driver probably. Öl, sold 😁 thanks man!
You had me at “yes it’s Chinese”.
how old are you and how long did it take to develop? I’ve never hurt my hand while gaming, this “carpal tunnel” buzzword seems like a hoax to me. Should I be scared, and do some preventive mesures, or are some people just immune?
Also, I game A LOT, and I only experienced exhaustion a couple of timed after a whole day of fps games, no other genre did any strain on me.
In your 40s, you will pay for the sins of your 20s. Pay attention to your ergonomics because by the time you feel pain the damage is already done.
I use thick cushiony gel wrist supports and an ergonomic mouse. Why would anyone want to be less comfortable and risk future issues?
Started setting in for me around 28 years old PC gaming since I was 10.
You must not game hard enough. True gamers use a desk thats too tall, a chair thats too short, lack a wrist pad and sut with their arm in a single position only making slight adjustments via the wrist fir hours on end without getting up.
Your sarcasm has information. I did spend a lot of money on a good ergonomic chair. Not a scam “gaming chair” but a good office one. I guess I’m not a true gamer :( But my mouse is on 3200 dpi, almost only wrist movements.
