As someone who hates insects because they creep me out, this looks like the perfect place to rest out any new flamethrower designs that need to be tested.

AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Shows that were only popular in your country?1·1 day agoI recently found out about that show, assuming we’re talking about the same Australian children’s supernatural comedy, and although some of the jokes don’t land on me as an adult, I am actually really enjoying it. A few episodes into season 1 and I could see kid me absolutely loving it.
Though, if we’re talking a different show, I’m SOL.

And already I cannot trust your argument on anything whatsoever because you used an LLM to try and prove your point.
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•My child won't stop singing the "Lava Chicken" song from the Minecraft movie. How do I go on living?41·3 days agoNot the answer you’re looking for, but this reminded me of a short video I saw a long time ago where it was some kids being obnoxious ( as they’re known for ) on a train and this man snaps and screams, in Chinese, “Shut up! I wanna die!” because of how tired he was.
Cannot find the clip when I search for it, but I think it’s pretty funny. Nor do I remember where I saw it, but that specific little video thing has absolutely stuck with me.l ever since I saw it.
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•if you could go back in time, when? What for?1·4 days agoI could think of a few historic figures I would love to see be smothered in their cradle, but I think of it’s a one way trip, I’m going to get PDFs with just about everything I would ever need to know about programming in older versions of various languages, burn them to CDs, then return to the early 90s.
My hope would be, assuming I could take the CDs with me, that I could spend time becoming someone known specifically for making good quality software that helps people. Then when people on windows get attached to that software, pull the rig by saying that, maybe around the late 2000s, all my software will now be only available on Linux. I’d hope to create such high quality software, with the help of any other lunatics I could find, that nobody else can compete. A sort of VLC is the best, or at the very least probably the most used, video player around the world sort of software. Get entrenched and then force a shakeup.
Bonus points on me bringing proof I’m from the future, if I could, to ensure I could get people to believe me. Something like my soft modded 3DS. Also, bonus points if I bring CDs with PDFs for future versions of things like Python and other languages and such so we could stay ahead of the curb.
Some real techno elitist type stuff if I had to say so myself.
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you mateys and folks deal with the sheer amount of music available out there?2·5 days agoAnymore I let new music drift towards me rather than go searching for it. Occasionally yt, while I’m listening to another song, will suggest something that might catch my eye. That’s pretty rare, but it also keeps me from overcrowding myself on crummy music. It’s how I’ve found some absolutely amazing vocaloid songs like Step Forward by Machwolf and even pretty good covers of songs I like, like the EstyDK cover of メルト ( melt ).
I also sometimes find good music while playing rhythm games like the Hatsune Miku Project Diva series or OSU.

AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What organizations/causes/people/whatever are most worthwhile to donate to?5·6 days agoEspecially now, I think projects like Wikipedia and The Internet Archive are great to donate to because of the high volume of information you can find on them, whether that’s links to information about a certain subject or a historic record of how a webpage may have looked years and years ago.
Last I checked, conservatives hate at least one of them ( Wikipedia ) because you don’t see them constantly bending the knee at every corner to appease their false history claims and other hateful junk.
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What computer life hacks are your most used?6·6 days agoAs a basic Linux user, I have a shell script to do all my updating, upgrading, removing of unneeded packages, etcetera. Under no circumstances is it all that advanced, just a string of simple enough apt and flatpak commands.
I also recently figured out that god knows how long ago that I set an alias to run it that’s only 3 keyboard clicks instead of 5, saving basically less than a second. So not that useful, but still good to know… until I inevitably forget about it again.
C for me because if I want you to know how my day is going, I’ll let you know.
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do gamers actually like the look of gaming computers and accessories?2·7 days agoOn a personal level, I don’t like the see through towers or really basically any RGB. I have a keyboard that has RGB and if I could turn it off while also being able to see the keys properly, I would turn it off. It’s currently at the lowest setting I can do it and still see the keys.
Also not a fan of the super fancy schmancy gaming mice because I’m a firm believer trackball mice are superior.
No opinion on gaming headsets other than the ones with the attached mic are stupid looking. Design of headphones and such are slightly less important to me than the sound quality, so I can let some dumb designs slide if the quality is fantastic.
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What should Americans throw into the Gulf of Mexico to protest the passing of this bill?4·7 days agoThat would be a large portion of the country. Last I checked, I don’t know of many, if any, politicians who voted “No!” when the time came. So unless I’m mistaken and some did, you’d be polluting the ocean and because the average American is like 300lbs ( source: I made it the fuck up ), we’d just end up damming it up and causing devastation.
I may not like the .ml political stance, but there are definitely people on there that may have non-political things worth listening to, which is why I haven’t bothered blocking them. They may have some good opinions on open source software and such. I just avoid their news community because I know I will disagree with them and their stance.
AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zipto Buy European@feddit.uk•ECI website is overloaded as we're only a few thousand signatures away1·8 days agoWouldn’t surprise me if large corporations that are against this forced their non-EU/UK employees to sign this in an attempt to kill it.
Normally I’d be on solid ground, in a tent, with a sleeping mat beneath my sleeping bag, so it would probably be safe to keep my clothes under it, probably towards the end of the bag near my feet. I’ve also never had any sort of ice forming on my sleeping bag before since we always had tents for every campout as needed.
Maybe I’m misremembering the advice or it’s bad advice, but in general I am probably never gonna have another chance to test this advice. So I’ll take your word for it.
No matter what, don’t go in the winter.
As someone who hates the cold with a passion, there’s nothing worse than waking up cold in the morning because you either didn’t have on enough to keep you warm during a cold winter night in a sleeping bag or had on too much and wake up cold from sweating throughout the night.
Winter campouts are the only camps I absolutely do not miss at all from my time at scouts. The cold mornings are enough for me to not suggest it, despite it not actually being that bad after you’ve warmed up.
Though, on a more serious note, one of the things I do remember being taught but never followed through with for various reasons is to put your clothes for the next day under your sleeping bag so that way the next day they should be warm or at least warmer so you aren’t putting on freezing cold clothes. Especially good for things like jeans because there’s nothing worse than putting on jeans with frigid cold metal buttons if your hands are already trembling a little from the cold winter morning in general.
At this point, trading card collecting and grading. Oh, a new series of trading cards for pokemon or yu-gi-oh or whatever dropped? Time for all the adults to buy out every single card in the store and then run home in hopes that their scam leaders like PSA will encourage their behavior by gracing them with a card they claim is worth money despite only being out for less than a week.
Card grading ain’t nothing but a scam, cult, and great way to encourage the worst in people, while simultaneously gatekeeping trading cards from everyone with more than 2 braincells. Ain’t nothing gonna change my mind about it.
